I think I am.getting a rare one .I.found a Winchester big.bore 94 in.444 marlin with the wood stock .It has the 20 inch barrel .Does anyone else have one ? I put the new weaver 4x4 see through rings on it but might change them to Burris signature zee rings for less shock on.the scope .I can't wait to shoot it hopefully weather gets better been crazy lately .I want to try 265 grain hornady bullets in it and 270 grain Speer and hornady 300 grain.xtp bullets .I.Hope to get a good bullet mold for it if I.figure out what bullets it likes.Hopefully it does good .I stuck a limb.saver pad on.the back of it too .I.got an old elk hide sling I.think safari land and put on it like that sling .I.want some kanes chaps for it also they protect your stock .I think this will be a nice deer gun .Hope I.get to take it to Alaska too !
I had the ported 16.5 inch ported version. I really liked the way it felt. I bought it the day Winchester closed at a local gunshop. It had been there several years without selling. Paid $545.00 for it. Sold it 2 years ago, still new in box/ unfired for $1800. Did ok on that one.

I thought this one was another 375 Winchester which I have bought a bunch of had six .The guy said 444 marlin and I was like where do I send the money order .The 444marlin is The second rarest to only.the 450 marlin version .I can't wait to shoot it .It's not ported had nice wood .I need a Ser of kanes chaps for a model 94 Winchester .It is suppose to have 1in 38 twist but looks faster than that .The 444 is an awesome cartridge .It looks just like a model 94 3030 but alot more power !
If it is 1 in 38, it will shoot the 265 hornady well and that was brought out for the marlin 444 with the same twist. It is much heavier construction than a 240. I would give the 300 grain xtp a try too.

I had a 444 marlin in a big bore 94ae that was just like the one you are talking about. I think it held 6 round in the full length magazine. I also had a model 94ae legacy in 44 mag. It had a twist of 1 in 26 so your 94 might have the same twist. I had a scope on it and it would shoot the 300 grain Hornidy under an inch all day long. I sold both a long time ago and regret it. The big bores use a slightly different scope bases that the regular angle eject.
It came with scope mounts and a new weaver 1x3 scope .I replaced that with a Nikon 3x9 monarch made in Japan .I.put the new weaver see through mounts on.the weaver bases .I.might change those to Burris signature zee rings .The guy I bought it from said it held eight 7 in the mag I have not loaded it yet lots of firepower with the 444 marlin .I want to try some bigger cast bullets in it too .I heard this is a 1in 38 twist but it looks way faster than that .They had three different twist in these Winchester 94 444 Marlins .It's so thick in the mountains where I live this will work good on black bears with the 300 or heavier grain bullets .I found this gun by accident was a good find !
Had great luck with IMR 4198 and Hornady 265 gr. Bullets in an original Marlin with micro groove barrel. Extremely accurate and dropped everything like a sledgehammer. You won't be disappointed.
