Well....after being on this earth for 50 years, I finally ran across(and bought) 2 Winchester 94's. Both in 30-30. One appears to work OK. The other is missing some parts. Lets call this rifle "A". Rifle "A" is missing a large flat tip screw towards the front left side of the receiver. Also the firing pin wants to fall out of the bolt. Included with this rifle, taped to the barrel, was a steel pin. This pin appeared to be hardened, measuring about 1/2" long by 1/4" diameter. I need help guys. Any constructive comments welcome...

Thanks

GT

GT1:

I wish I could help you with specific advice but at least I can urge you to give more details about the 94s so that people who know lots more about the Win.94 can help you. Serial numbers would be helpful. Exactly what kind of Win. 94 would also help. (Frankly, rifle "A" sounds like a basket case and that you could spend many, many, many hours trying to put it back together again. Is it worth it? A rifle that starts out with a receiver screw missing has two strikes on it as far as I'm concerned!) Smiler Good Luck.

One has a ser. number 4,500,000 the other 4,800,000. Any constructive advise: What holds the firing pin in the bolt. I also noticed the charging handle is not secured up in the receiver. Whats that pin go to (mentioned in earlier post)???

Thanks

Should have bought pre-64 as the quality was much superior your rifles were made in the 70,s.Go to numrich firearms web site and you can download a pre-64 exploded diagram, the 94,s were all basicaly the same.If they dont have the parts you need there is a place in texas that has everything for 94,s Chasjonesguns or something close and he may have diagrams as well.sw/regards

The pin holds the lever in the bolt. The lever holds the firing pin in. The large screw holds the pin in. All you might need is the screw.

Thanks Marc:
Now I need to find a front sight cover and two finger lever pin stop screws. That pin stop screw is the largest flat tipped screw on the front left side of the reveiver. Any comments on where to shop. Already tried Sarco,Numric, etc. Winchester being bought by FN/Henstal really hurt.

Thanks

Both Brownells and Midway carry some Winchester 94 parts. If they have it in stock, you are in luck. Otherwise who knows if they can get it. There are some other possible sources but I don't remember the names.
