Seems like a good prospect for my Marlin. http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/catalog/product_info.p...h=44&products_id=163 Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not with this specific load but I do buy and use DT's 10mm ammo. Generally it is high quality conisitant ammo that chronographs true to the published numbers. The numbers seem reasonable given the pressure of 25K psi. The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it. -- Thomas Jefferson http://tcbunch.com

You could get a little more umph for a little less money with the 405 grain 45-70 load from Conley Precision Ammunition. Same bullet, 100 fps more, dollar less. But Doubletap is local to you and looks just fine if they shoot well enough in your rifle. http://www.cpcartridge.com/45-70marlin-P.htm You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.

I also really like the fact that it is loaded to 25,000psi, that is 3,000psi below the official SAAMI standard!

The safe operating pressure of the Marlin 1895 45-70 is 40,000 CUP (approximately 42,732 PSI). You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.

If they really clock at 1800fps and they have less pressure (read: less strain on your weapon), then it is a good thing!

Results: 5 shot average was 1817fps with an ES of 7fps. My 50yd. group measured 1.33" with my tired eyes and iron sights. This is my Marlin's new load.
