Browning BLR barrel job
Anyone with experience in re-barreling a BLR? I'm a gunsmith and have been asked to re-barrel a .300 Win Mag to .458 Win Mag. and while I have re-barreled traditional lever guns like Marlins and Winchesters, I've never had my hands on a BLR. Any relevant comments are much appreciated. Thanks.

Only one I know of the new ones would be the takedown version that is supposedly 'easier' to rebarrel as it has a barrel extension that the barrel threads into. I have never looked at the newer standard ones, but was under the impression those had locking lugs machined integral with the barrel and slip fit into the aluminum receiver. Makes for a difficult rebarrel. Might want to see if there is enough meat on the existing barrel to just have it re-bored and rifled, then chamber for your 458.

Shoot straight, shoot often.

PM Bill73. He's done quite a bit with extensive levergun mods...not sure who he uses.
