I have a Savage M-99F in 300 Savage, the problem is with factory or even very light handloads, that after firing the lever is stuck so tight that it can't be opened, when I wait a few seconds for it to cool ? it will open. That same brass can be reinserted in the chamber and every thing is fine.Any suggestions? I purchsed this rifle because it is similar to one my grandfather used forever,it is light handy and accurate but quick second shots are out . Thank You in advance. Chris

Post this in the Gunsmithing forum. There are lots of people there that may be able to help you. I have a 99R and have never experienced a problem like yours or have heard of anyone that has. ZM

check the chamber for any irregularities or a rough finish which can cause it to stick momentarily until the case cools off and retracts from the chamber walls. I would also get at least a no-go headspace guage and check, if it goes in you have serious problems and need to consult a good gunsmith. I've noticed lately a lot of these guns have been built up with mismatched parts and were put together with no thought of safety or proper fit and headspace.
