Model 94 Question

I have a Model 94 Ranger .30-30 that I am having a puzzling problem with. With every shot the forearm creeps forward slightly on the magazine tube from the recoil. After a dozen or so shots it can be as much as 2" forward. The clamp screw is as tight as I can get it and I put a sling swivel clamp on the tube in front of it as well, but nothing helps. Anybody else have the same problem? Anybody else ever fix this problem?

Have you removed the band screw or what I think you are calling the clamp screw? The band screw fits through a slot in the bottom of the barrel. That is what keeps the forend in place. Maybe the screw is bent or the edge of the slot is rounded off. Or maybe the hole in the band is to large.
