Gentlemen, I have recently noticed USRA model 1886 and 1892 rifles on the racks at various stores made by Winchers USRA. I spoke to their customer service department today and expressed a desire for them to re-introduce the Mod 71 deluxe. My request was taken into consideration. I believe if there was enough support, this might take off. Call Winchester! I realize for some folks this will not be a "real" 71; I own a nice original 71 deluxe but I would not mind putting it in a shadow box and having a new one to play with. I think allot of folks might buy them as a platform to build larger calibers. Give them a call and show support! EZ

I also would like to see Winchester to bring back the '71, but please leave out the tang safety. Browning '71's are outstanding firearms in all respects and perhaps they would re introduce the '71 w/o the tang gadget. Turnbull can "fix" the matter, but do it right the first time would be nice.

I would buy one! But I'm afraid we are stuck with the lawyer safety.
