That is the part I think most posters who have not hunted Pa. are missing. Very short hunt, no dogs, no bait and shall we say alot of hunting pressure. There will not be bears ambling to the orchard like other places. They are going to be pushed and on the move, generally at a speed that you can't believe a bear can move. So, the classic standing broadside shot on an unaware bear is not an option.

No. Just bigger. I watch these guys on TV hunting the "monster" black bears of British Columbia and laugh. I've got a pair of trail cam pictures of a bear from this April/May that will go 700 lbs by this november (our bear season). You wanna square off with him with your 30-30, you just knock yourself out, pal. Founder....the OTPG

i would suggest federal loaded with 170 grain nosler PT. Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

try buffalo bore 190 grain heavy 30/30 ammo. it'll knock the crap out of any bear. tough stuff, no bullet failures and it will kill anything on this continent. used on buff and you couldn't keep the bullet in the buff and went down like a sack of taters.
