... I guess everyone that has 'em is keepin 'em.... which makes this situation sorta funny... it seems like when Win was making them, they couldn't GIVE em away... now they are the most desireable of the bunch... figure THAT out...I'd like to have one of each, also....

But, isn't this the way of things in general? We only really get interested in something just about the time they discontinue it....

I remember when Marlin was putting out their 336 in a 356 Winchester. I started to buy one, for $219.00 , and my wife at the time bitched that I did not need another rifle, as I already owned two.

Well, that wife is long since been an ex wife, but if I had of bought the Marlin, I would still have it. I still have the two rifles she complained I owned at the time.

Moral of the story, Get what you want, when it is available.
You get a heck of a lot better return on your investment with a rifle, than you do an ex wife.

Well I was fortunate enough to stumble across a 94 in 307 here this past weekend at a local branch of a sporting goods store in their used section. It was lightly used and I'd venture to guess it would go about 98% with only a couple minor blemishes. I couldn't believe the priece when I saw it was only $299 so I didn't let that little critter out of my hands!! I too have been watching the things sell on the internet for over $500 and just couldn't imagine paying that. Not to mention as has already been pointed out they don't show up there very often either. I'm tickled pink to have gotten such a deal on one. Now if only I could get so lucky with the 356, 375, and 348 I'd be in hog heavin!!

I too can't figure out why the 307 and 356 never got off the ground. They offer a considerable jump up in performance over the 30-30 and 35 Remington respectively and yet allow you to stick with one of the slickest little hunting guns ever built to boot!

Amen, and i'd like to add the 375 Winchester to the line of rifles I wish I bought, and wish would be returned to production. IMVHO Marlin in their desire to increase sales with a new product should have brought back one of these or all of these into production instead of chambering the short 475 Linebaugh cartridge into the long 1895 action, i'm sure they would be pleasantly surprised at the demand. What advantage is there to the 475 Linebaugh in the 1895 action over the same gun chambered in 45-70???
