I have a Marlin 1893 rifle that once had either a half octogon or full octogon barrel, checkering, pistol grip, and is tapped for a scope that uses one mount on the action and another on a block on the barrel. Problem is the gun is super rough and had a Winchester barrel scabbed on. What can you tell me about this gun and where do I start on a restoration? PICTURES of other similar rifles would be amazing. | ||

Inasmuch as it has been d&t for a scope I doubt that restoring it would be anything but unwarranted expense and lots of that. Unless you just want to keep and shoot it you would be better off selling it.... Restoration is very expensive but if your truly intent on restoring it then I would send it to Doug Turnbull for restoration. Another option is too have it rebarreled and shoot it as is.
