While visiting relatives over the Memorial Day weekend I happened upon a Marlin Cowboy version of the 1894 in .44 Mag sitting on the used gun rack of the Gander Mtn in York PA. Blue with 20" octagon barrel, not a scratch visible. I've been pondering the purchase of a .44 carbine for some time as I already have two .44 mag revolvers and dies and brass and bullets and you get the picture. After a bit of a glitch with the paperwork the little fellow came home with me. Now I'm thinking of different bullet weights, new reciever sight, sling , etc, etc... Glad I have something to play with this Summer.

How much was it? AllanD If I provoke you into thinking then I've done my good deed for the day! Those who manage to provoke themselves into other activities have only themselves to blame. *We Band of 45-70er's* 35 year Life Member of the NRA NRA Life Member since 1984

$480.00 I actually paid less for my Guide Gun. But I bought the 1894 to plink with and I'll probably hunt with the .45-70.

That's a suprisingly reasonable price for a Cabela's used gun.... their prices are usually a bit.... excessive... I usually learn what to NOT pay by browsing their used rack... I was down there this afternoon and scored a Lyman 66LA out of the bargain cave for $30. It was Missing the mounting screws and the elevation scale screw was "blurred" the mounting screws are $1 and the scale screw was $0.50 I already ordered them from Lyman.
