With the right gunsmith, should be OK. Reason I say gunsmith is that its not a straight screw out/screw in swap because he has to cut the locking lug mortices as well as the chamber. A lot of "gunsmiths" (blacksmiths?) don't have the skill. After that should fly fine. Should'n require magazine mods especially with 7mag (same case and almost same shoulder location). With that big case and heavy bullets I think you'll appeciate the extra weight of an '81 rather than a Lightning or Lightweight. I've always dreamed about a 458. BOL. BH

I'm sort of making the rounds in the various forums with various pieces of this mission. I've decided to see if I can get a BLR in 358 Norma. Could I have a BLR in 7RemMag or 300/338WinMag rebarreled with no other changes? Or would I have to adjust for feeding and extraction as well? Should I watch out for an 81 or Lightning?

Some reasoning: I love the BLRs, need a lefty-friendly action and can't spend tons of money.
