can one rebarrel a336 to 7/30 waters. if so where can this be done resonable cost wise. need some input guys.would like to do this as i can't buy one any where. but would not want t o pay the price of a new gun for it. thanks.

Yes most assuredly so. I have seen one such conversion and even read about a Savage 99 that was rebarreled in 7-30.

Kinda depends on your definition of reasonable. I believe Douglas will duplicate you barrel profile so you've got the price of the barrel plus the custom turning, chambering and fitting on top of the cost of the rifle. My guess is that it would add about $300 by the time you are done to the cost of the donor rifle. Now the nicest thing would be for Marlin to offer it as a special limited run like they are prone to do for other chamberings. You might try asking them. I'm sure there is a market for at least one run of the caliber. I'd get one if offered, especially with the proper twist for the Waters round.

336's cost more to rebarrel because there is much more work involved with milling various cuts. For example, go to Montana Rifle Company's page and check installation cost.. the highest of all actions, I think.
