Bug

I have a Ruger No1 in 45/70 and had a Marlin 1895 22"bbl.

My nephew got the Marlin from me. My Brother has the 45/70 Guide Gun and it shoots even better at 100 yards than my 1895 did. I have shot several of the octagon bbl'd Marlins and they shoot good. I would buy the one that fits you the best. I will say this, the Guide Gun is VERY handy and shoots several different loads VERY good. You csnnot go wrong with any of the Marlins.... However the 1886 Winchester is the BEST lever action rifle ever made. Because it can take a scope the Marlin is the best hunting lever rifle, but the 1886 is what it is.
