Marlin 444XLR release date and fluted bolt questions

I'm currently drooling over the new Marlin 444XLR. Or at least drooling over the prospect of owning one. Wink

Anybody know an expected release date?

Also, anybody know why they fluted the bolts on the XLR models?

That's the conclusion I've come to re: the fluted bolt. Personally, I prefer the original look, but that's just me.

Still don't know when (or if) these are going to ship. Frowner
