I have one on my .45-70CB. I really like it. I got the optional peep slider and really like that. People poked a lot of fun at me saying I shoulda got a real peep sight but it shoots real good and is a lot less obtrusive than a receiver sight. I use it for cast bullet silhouette. Part number 8004 Marlin 1895 sight. http://www.smithenterprise.com/1400_t8004_1895_Marlin_Sight.jpg I shoot a 405 LBT in front of 14.5 grains of Unique. I shoot out to two hundred meters and there is a lot of elevation left. With my loads, I'd have to say 4-500 meters ought to be possible. I would imagine further with stouter loads.
