Just bought a nice Win 92 in 38/40 that can be traced back to being issued to the State prison service in 1910!

I already own a matching pair of carbines made in 1892 also bought for the prison service!

I own an old Win. mod. 92 38-40 WCF serial number 178, and it was the rifle my granddad shot and killed a notorious bank robber with when he was a deputy sheriff in Marfa, Texas...I also have his Win mod. 94 SRC that he carried along with the mod. 92, serial number 2124 during his years in the Texas Rangers during the late 1800s and early 1900s..I have hunted and killed deer with both guns, and both are still very accurate rifles.

My only 1892 was made around 1906, making it over 100 years young.
It has been re-chambered in .357 Magnum and features a Douglas barrel and Bishop stocks. It is a good shooter.

Here are my 1972 (first year 'new') 1895 45/70 and my fathers 336 in 35 Remington. The 35 is 2nd year production of the 336. Its an unmolested 'waffle top'.
