Can anybody tell me the pitch angle of a shotgun butt style and the depth of the butt on an original 1886? Thanks.

No help on shotgun butt. I do shoot a Miroku/Winchester 1886 45-90 with crescent steel butt plate if that if that would address your "depth" question. NRA Life Benefactor Member, DRSS, DWWC, Whittington Center,Android Reloading Ballistics App at http://www.xplat.net/

Using an original 1886 in 33 WCF-, drop at heel is 2.25 in, DAcomb: 2.58 ; LOP-13 3/8 in. These are the measurements normally taken for a double shotgun or rifle, but they work on a Winchester 1886. This an original 1912 1886 nickel steel (smokeless) version with 24 in barrel, hard rubber buttplate. A special order or pistol grip 1886 may have different measurements, as will an early black powder rifle. PM if more info needed. Avatar
