Does anyone make/sell a sling mount that attaches to the steel nosecap on the forearm of the 1895"s? Can't locate one in Midway or Brownell's catalog's but maybe I just missed it. Thanks... Jon

I can not tell you the part number off the top of my head, but Uncle Mikes makes one. I have it on my 1895 Cowboy that was converted to 50 Alaskan.

Thanks for the tip. If Uncle Mike's makes it I'll track it down somewhere. The .50 Alaskan in a 1895CB must "thump" pretty good! I was a little surprised at how light the 1895CB actually is. Marlin says they weigh 8 lbs. but mine weighs exactly 7.4 lbs out of the box. Hope you're .50 cal. barrel added a couple of pounds! Thanks again for the info... Jon

With the cowboy the barrel had to be replaced as opposed to rebored because of the cuts in the top for the sights. It weighs 10.5 pounds unloaded now -- so it helps calm the recoil. I went with a heavy octogon barrel and the old style forend ( thick like on a 50's 336A) so I got more weight and a better grip. You need something to hold on to!
