A few years ago I was given a handful of rifles. One of them is a Winchester Model 71 in 348Win, I beleive it is made prior to 1956 or so, the number is 431XX. Anyone able to put an exact manufacture date on this one?



I looked up the ammo availabilty and it would seem as the only way to get brass is to buy Winchester factory ammo, of which the only choice is the 200grn Silvertips. Does anyone know a way to get brass only for this rifle? At $48.25 a box I'm not sure I want to own this rifle. In addition can anyone tell me what I could expect to sell this rifle for or is there a reason this one was given to me for free?
