How much to crimp do i give my .444 Marlin hunting reloads . I plan to use 265gr Honadys over 47 grains of reloader 7 and CCi rifle primers . Bob | ||

Bob The simple answer is you want enough of a crimp to prevent the bullet being pushed back into the case when the magazine is fully loaded and the rifle is fired. A way to test this is to load the magazine to max capacity, and leaving the cartridges in the mag shoot 10 rounds or so. If none of the bullets get pushed back into the case the crimp is good enough.
