Does anyone here know someone they can reccommend to do a conversion on a Marlin 1895 45-70? You can borrow money, but you can't borrow time. Don't wait, go now. Savannah Safaris Namibia Otjitambi Trails & Safaris DRSS NRA SCI DSC TSRA TMPA

Ks, that surprises me. I know several people that have gotten guns from Dave in the past couple of years and they are quite happy with their guns. Mic McPhearson's phone number is 1-970 564-0500. He can customize a Marlin to shoot a .510 kodiak express. The 510 K.E. is a 50 alaskan with another 23/100ths of length in the brass. You can get 2350 ft/sec with 450 grain bullets out of a 22" bl. for 5500 ft. lbs. of energy. Pretty much max out of a Marlin.

dave did a 444 takedown w/ high grade wood and a 500 grit polish about6 years ago, then a shortened 30-30 on a marlin w/ the same blue and thinned wood. both came back perfect. recently i sent him a SS 45-70 to get a takedown done. he said 4 -5 months. it took 18 months. the trigger broke at 5 pounds, he was told 3 pounds, the crown looked like he finished it w/ a leatherman and the silver solder on top around the BBL / reciever was spotty and inconsitant. i'll use brokman or west next time.

agree with the Turnbull suggestion. His work is impeccable and turnaround time is excellent. Prices are reasonable and the work is guaranteed. Rich DRSS

I used Nonneman several years ago. Quote at about 4 months and had to resort to threats at about 14 months. What really ticked me off was having him tell me that it had shipped but the tracking number was in the shop; wife called a week later and his son said it was still sitting there. Mat
