Just picked one up at my local gunshop. Pricey but very well done lever rifle based off the 1886 action, has a cool peep and rails across the 20" barrel for scout scope, very nice wood... any of you have one and what factory load are you shooting in it? Should be a great truck gun for trips to the ranches...

I think these are just about the coolest lever gun going right now. Have you had a chance to shoot it yet? Did you get one with the black or silver finish?

It is the stainless model 89 carbine. And unfortunately I haven't shot it yet. My gun shop had the gun but the only ammo he had in .500 S&W were wadcutters and I don't think they would feed very well! Have him on the lookout to snag some ammo suitable for the rifle. Will try and post some pics soon.
