Just picked one up at my local gunshop. Pricey but very well done lever rifle based off the 1886 action, has a cool peep and rails across the 20" barrel for scout scope, very nice wood... any of you have one and what factory load are you shooting in it? Should be a great truck gun for trips to the ranches... I think these are just about the coolest lever gun going right now. Have you had a chance to shoot it yet? Did you get one with the black or silver finish? Since I'm harassing you; any pics to share? _____________________________________________________ No safe queens! | |||

Clay, It is the stainless model 89 carbine. And unfortunately I haven't shot it yet. My gun shop had the gun but the only ammo he had in .500 S&W were wadcutters and I don't think they would feed very well! Have him on the lookout to snag some ammo suitable for the rifle. Will try and post some pics soon. On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.
