What I'm looking for is info and a pic of an older Marlin 45-70 straight grip pre safety model. Thanks

What do you want to know about them? I used to have one that I mounted a 2-1/2X scope on. It was a great woods gun for whitetail deer and would shoot the 300-grain Federal factory ammo into 1-1/2 inch for five shots at 100 yards, but it hurt to shoot off of a bench. I would buy another if I could find one in good shape at a fair price. The down side of mine is that it needed the inside of the action polished to feed reliably, but after that was done, it was great. As I recall it weighed about 7 pounds without the scope. It did have a decent finish. Anything specific that you want to know that I did not cover? Dave One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. OI have a 1972 (first year) Marlin 1895 45-70. The only non original thing is it's pachymar decellerator recoil pad. Strait grip and 22" barrel. I can probably take a few pictures of it for you. The one on the right is a 1975 vintage Marlin 1895, with a Weaver K2.5 scope.
