The local shop has one on the rack. A tribute to the Duke for sure. Were these made here in the states or did Browning have them made by Miroku in Japan? bewildered

The tree huggers are out there. They can't be reasoned with, they can't be bargained with... they don't feel pity or remorse or fear...and they absolutely will not stop. Ever.

Made in Japan. It would be nice to see Winchester make 92's here again if they get that factory in SC running at full capacity....without that fugly tang safety!

Kaschi, I believe you are in dreamland on the safety. My belief is that FN will continue to make 'non catalogued' special runs and the 92 is one of them -- see 44-40 takedown version for this year. However, they will be made by Miroku, will have the "lawyer proof" safety and will be exceedly expensive as special run guns. On the plus side, they will have nice wood and be well made.

"Dreamland" in that they are never going to be made without the safety. I realize that. It's my hope and wish that this will not be the case!
No doubt they will continued to be made in Japan.
I'm glad I used my brains and got ALL the Brownings levers(Model 53,65,86,92,95) when they were still pretty cheap! NO SAFTIES AND NO REBOUNDING HAMMERS!!! YEE HAA!!!

Forgot to mention the Browning 71 in 348. Also equipped without goofy safety and rebounding hammer!

I have several of the 95's, 86's and 94's with the tang safety and rebounder. Like you, it is not my preference but they all work just fine and they are the only option if you want a new gun.

I saw one of those Duke 92s
Prety darn cool. But Once you spend I think it was 1200, you migh as well throw in another few 100 and get on origional.
I have a 44/40 SRC from 1921. It shoots real real well.
I overpaid for mine in retrospect But not by much and if you think about it, with mild loaded led bullets it is still a darn good fighting weapon , if you ever needed it.
it holds 9 in the tube and one in the chamber.
If a Guy took the time to get really ood with it he cold hold his own fairly well.
