I make my 38/40 cases from Starline 44/40 so there is common boltface. The 38/40 with 175gn projectile shoots much flatter and faster than 44/40 for SASS long range rifle matches.

My own 44/40's Mod 92 Ser No. 451## was made in 1893 and another with half mag Ser No. 1012## made 1895.
