Is there something I can use to touch the scratches in the finish of my BLR? Don't really care for the flashy finish but it came on it. Thought about taking it completely off but it would probably be easier to touch up than remove. Any suggestions? Steve E.......

You didn't say how bad the scratch is, or where. When I scratched my A-Bolt I just rubbed it down with 0000 steel wool until the glassy finish looked more like a soft egg shell finish. It didn't get rid of the scratch but it didn't standout and slap you in the face the way it had before. Cheers, MaBell

It's just in the finish and not down into the wood. Some scratches are on the forend and some are on the butt stock. No scratches on the metal though. I just picked it up at a Gun Show with Redfield mount and rings all for $200.00. I think it may be an older model as the hammer doesn't have the spur that can be pushed forward as a safety. Anybody know when they stopped using this style of hammer? Thanks for any info. Steve E.........

GunSaver finish from Brownells will cover the scratch. sweat the scratch out and sand lightly and match the finish. Rub down with red scotch pad and wax.
