I decided to use a laser bore sighter to sight in the iron sights on my new Henry and imagine my surprise to find that the rear sight ramp is almost useless! To raise the rear sight, you loosen a screw which releases the tension holding down the rear sight. You then slide the notched ramp backwards in order to raise the rear sight. The problem is that the ramp has no room to slide backwards! Hence, you can only raise the rear sight by maybe one notch. I wonder if the ramp was put on backwards on my rifle? ^ Oops my bad! Thanks 700xcr. It never occurred to me that the little nipple thing caused the entire assemply to slide back. I assumed (like they say), that the nipple was just used to anchor that end of the sight rail. Again, many thanks. BH63 Hunting buff is better than sex!

Went back and tried to adjust the rear sight on my Henry. I couldn't do it. It seems that the Leo scope base (one piece) butts up against the nipple on the rear of the sight assembly. Henry recommends using the Weaver 63B scope mounts, but I am not a fan of Weaver mounts, so I went with the Leo QR mounts (which I love). BH63 Hunting buff is better than sex!

I thought about getting a Pic Rail, but I don't really like the look of them on a sporting rifle. They are very versatile though. BH63 Hunting buff is better than sex!
