Has anyone tried the new Hornady 30-30 ammo in their lever rifles? If so, what do you think? "When you play, play hard; when you work, don't play at all." Theodore Roosevelt

I didn't, but my buddy did. we got back 3 wks. ago from a hog/javelina hunt in so. Texas. He killed 3 hogs and 1 javelina, with a new XLR and the 30-30 leverevolution ammo. All were 1 shot kills, and all were complete pass throughs. The distances were 90 to 170 yds. Obviously he LIKED it. Mad dog

I haven't shot at any game yet but range performance is outstanding. My marlin was shooting about 1 3/4/-2" groups with standard winchester 150 gr bullets, the new new Hornady went into about 7/8". We have gongs hanging at 275yds and all I have to do is put the crosshair right in the middle of the gong and boom /clank. same hold with the winchester 150 hits the dirt below them.

Bill, Good deal..please let us know. I have an old ballard 20" Marlin that I ran an AI reamer into recently and have tried some Win 147 gr FMJBT in front of IMR 4895 in single shot mode and got performance just like the Horny charts claim for their new ammo. It will be neat to see if the factory stuff shoots as flat. I have no intention of using this bullet for hunting, but I have considered using the 150 gr Rem PSP (seated deep) in 2 shot mode. The 125 gr HP seems to be pretty close to the 147 gr at 200 yds. Folks have said it is a good deer bullet.
