Placed an order back in Feb with Turnbull for a Browning 71 conversion. Should be done within the month. Can't wait. Going to be a 50-110 Winchester, 22" octagon barrel, full mag tube and adding Winchester H style checkering. Already have the dies and reloading components. Will post pics when I get it.

several years ago I had my local guy convert an M71 to 50-110. 30" full octagon barrel, FL magazine. You are going to enjoy your new rifle.

Idaho Sharpshooter-Are you willing to share any good loads with me? I have some data I have collected but it is few and and far between.

Before I sold my small collection of express rifles and loading tools, my two favorite loads in my .50-110s were 65 grains of IMR 3031 and a 450- grain bullet and the same powder charge of IMR 4198 and a 300-grain bullet for a very HV load. I recall the 3031 didn't burn completely when shot with the lighter bullet.

Lots of folks are bringing these old timers up again but it is amazing the cartridges and rifles of the old days still get the job done so well with all the super whiz-bang magnums out there.

Rich, very cool....I love the look of a lever gub with a 28-30" barrel.
