I rate the 88 in .308 very high. Mine was made in 1963 and will do 1.5 MOA all day long with just about any decent load. That is plenty good for any and all hunting..Yep..the trigger is a bit mushy, but not so bad that it hinders my shooting. The stock has quite a bit of drop and that makes for more felt recoil.

Excluding big bears, I would take my 88 anywhere in North American to shoot anything.

I have one in .308 also and would rate it very highly. A nice smooth action, wood to metal fit is excellent, as is accuracy. I'll never part with mine. Bill T.
