The Win. M94 is back in the .25-35 version. Excellent cartridge for younger/smaller hunters wanting to use this great lever action rifle. Go to http://www.winchesterguns.com/prodinfo/catalog/detail.asp?cat_id=534&t ype_id=118&cat=003C to check it out. Now if they would only bring it out in the longer barrel version(24") it would be perfect as long as they keep the octagon barrel. Lawdog

Yeah, also back is the 38-55. I'm thinking one of those would be nice to get later this year. My preference is for the unadorned Hunter model carbine.

It's in the catalog and on the website, when it starts showing up on dealer shelves I'll believe it. Then I'll buy me one. Rooster

My first centerfire rifle was a Winchester 1894 25-35. My grandfather paid $35 for it at the old Buckhorn Gun Shop in downtown Dallas in 1959. My parents hated it when he spoiled me like that. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

The old buckhorn gun shop. Now that does bring back some memories. Left Dallas in 1968, and I think it closed or moved sometime after that. The treasures they had back then. Mint model 52 sporter for $850.00 back then.

Mike, I was a kid then but I sure remember it well too, rows of 73 Winchesters and other lever guns, vintage American doubles literally stacked on tables, cases full of old Colts and other revolvers, guns owned by famous gunfighters hanging on the wall, cannons in the corners, quite a place. They moved to the north end of town and were still open a few years ago (may still be), mainly specializing in vintage doubles, appointment only. Another great old shop in Dallas was a place across the street from SMU, small but very high quality collectible stuff, Jackson Arms. Always made a point of visiting them when I went to Dallas to see my grandparents. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

Ray: There are a handful of SRCs on GunsAmerica.com right now. Just do a search on 25-35. RSY The real work of men was hunting meat. The invention of agriculture was a giant step in the wrong direction, leading to serfdom, cities, and empire. From a race of hunters, artists, warriors, and tamers of horses, we degraded ourselves to what we are now: clerks, functionaries, laborers, entertainers, processors of information. - Edward Abbey

Buckhorn and Billy Hodge were good friends of mine and I still keep in touch with Billie... Old man Hodge sold my boys their first Marlin 22 L.Rs for $15 in pennies that they dumped on the counter...Told me they were as hard to deal with as I was! Also told me to butt out when I tried to make up the difference, said the deal was between him and the boys... They don't make like that anymore, they both would do to ride the river with in my books...
