The .45-70 / 450 marlin sights are indeed different than the 336 sight. If I remember right, the aperture screw itself is longer on the .45-70 model. As long as the round part of the aperture doesn't hit the base you can shorten it. Or, like you say, get a new front sight. Either XS or Brownells will help you calculate the correct size of the front sight. | ||
