Hello,

This is not a gun that is for sale but I took note on a family hand me down that is likely to become mine someday. It is a Winchester 1894 octogon barrel 32-40. the serial number is in the 1700's so I would take that to be first or second year manufacture. It appears to be all original and there is no rust but it had certainly been used at some point in its life and has that plum color look that older guns seem to get. I have not looked at the bore but the action cycles smoothly. I was just wondering as to the collector value of this piece. any input is appreciated

Cheers,
Jason

But what do I know?

It would be worth quite a bit if the bore is good. Old 94's that were used with black powder, as were many 32/40's, often have bad bores.
