I have a couple, a type 4 and a type 2. What is your question? If you really need good info you might also check the Colt collectors forum.

Daniel, I have two mags, one marked: Cal 32 Colt and the other 32 auto Colt; one large letters and the other small letters. One appears to have no way to remove the bottom and the other appears to slide out but I can't move it without tools (and I'm not about to scar it with pliers and hammer). Confused Obviously I've never removed the spring(s) but on other guns I have managed to maneuver the follower enough to get it out. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I sent an email with drawings, hope they help.
Magazine spring can be removed fairly easily (seldom need replacing). Compress the follower and insert a cross pin through one of the cartridge counter holes. Release pressure on the follower and it should fall right out. Hold the spring compressed and remove the cross pin and then it can be removed.

What's just been said. The purpose is to relieve the pressure on the follower. So, as said, compress the spring by using a pencil or dowel to pus the follower as far down as it can.

Now use a nail, steel rod, pin, to hold down the spring below the follower. Remove whatever you've used to push the follower down and now you'll be able to wiggle the follower out.

Then once the follower is out remove the spring. In truth though it may just be cheaper and amybe easier to source a used magazine?
