I recently aquired a H&R Trapper revolver that use to be my grandpas tackle box gun. He would use it to dispatch muskies before bringing them into the boat.

I did some internet research on this revolver and found out it was made from 1924 to 1942. Mine was probably made in the late 20s.

During my research I found conflicting info about what type of 22 rimfire ammo I can shoot in this gun. One source said to use 22 short ammo only while another source said it was ok to use standard velocity long rifle ammo. The long rifle ammo will fit in the cylinder with a little length to spare.

Does anyone have any info or experiance they can share with me?
