I'm thinking about getting a 10/22. I'll likely get a bull-barrel, trigger kit, and an Hogue Overmolded stock for it in the not-to-distant future. Does it matter which model you get? Any difference in stainless or blued? Receivers on both are aluminum in .22 LR, right? Thanks, Steve

I would get which ever you prefer...they are the same to my knowledge.....I don't know which stock barrel/stock would resell best.....most likely the heavy barrel version....check at rimfirecentral for lots of opinions/information.....enjoy the build up.....good luck and good shooting!! bigdaddytacp

Thanks BDtacp. Got the Deluxe Sporter Model, because I liked the wood and it was $20 more than the base model. What a neat rifle. Of course, now I WON'T sell the stock or take-off barrel, and I'll have even more parts littering my reloading room.

You are absolutely right. The recievers of both the blued and stainless rifles are made of aluminum. I also have a deluxe model 10/22. It was the first rifle given to me by my father and I will never part with it. Good choice.

You'll have a lot of fun with your new rifle. If you want to fix the trigger, an aftermarket hammer is all that's needed to give you a good 2 1/2 pound pull, + or - an ounce or two. No need to change the sear as the factory sear works fine, and is equal to those sold by the aftermarket companies.

Thanks, guys. I really like the rifle. It might stay as is for a while.

I have a 10/22 Deluxe with Simmons 22 Mag scope and could not be more pleased. One of the most accurate rifles I have ever owned. Best group I have done is 3/16 inch 5 shot group at 25 yds. using Winchester Wildcat ammo. I want to give it a try using Ely or Federal subsonic and extend the range out to 50 yards. Only problem I have had is a jam occasionally when using bulk ammo. Just keep it clean.

Robert, While you're testing subsonic ammo, include some Wolf Match Target, as it shots best in several 22's I have, including target 22's. Don
