I just replaced my Marlin 17 with a Savage and I'm selling the Marlin to my bud across the street (birthday present for his 8 year old). I had installed a Rifle Basix trigger and had it tuned pretty soft with no travel. Any experts in the field know if this could be a problem with a youngster? It's easy enough to fix.

I learned to shoot with two German 22s which I still use . I started at about 8 years old . Both rifles have 1 lb triggers !! Yes I was spoiled but had no problem with them. A few years later someone gave me my own rifle ,a typical kids gun . It took all my strength to close the bolt.Trigger pull was not good either.
