I picked up one of the GSG 1911 22 lr pistols about a month ago and really love this thing. The lower is a 1911 frame with some ridges cast into the mag well to keep you from inserting a 1911 mag. everything else about the lower is 1911. I chose this one over the Chiappa, Puma (same gun) and the made by Umerex with Colts name on it. It was higher than the Chiappa and Puma but $40.00 cheaper than the Umerex. Fit and finish is fantastic. It really loves Green Tag and Federal Auto Match. I will post pic's as soon as I find out what I did with them.

I have heard excellent reports on the GSG 1911 and would buy one in a heartbeat if I did not already have a Colt Ace.

I am not a conversion fan, and so I would prefer the GSG to the Ciener kit.

I have a GSG MP5 style carbine in .22 and it is a well designed piece and functions very well.
