A friend and I took a trip to Cabela's in Denver to buy the new Savage .17WSM rifles they had on sale. The sale model had a barrel like a soda straw. The heavy barreled models cost over $100 more. Stocks were rubbery plastic, but we bought them anyway. Took them to the range once scoped and tried them with Federal and Winchester ammo. Couldn't find any of the Hornady cartridges. Both guns did well, but there was some stringing vertically, easily put down to the flexible forends. I tried to get my trigger down to the lowest setting Savage says it could go, but no such luck. We are both going to buy Boyd's laminated stocks and bed them. Hopefully this will eliminate the forearm problem. Will add more after we receive the stocks and get the barreled actions bedded. .395 Family Member DRSS, po' boy member Political correctness is nothing but liberal enforced censorship | ||
