Is anyone familiar with the tear down of the Ruger 10/22 action? My Ruger 10/22 is in need of getting the action cleaned....as I am guessing it is somewhere around 10-15,000 rounds fed. Is there a manual online showing this? Is this a hard task or something anyone can do? Any hints/tips will be appreciated. Thanks! "Let me start off with two words: Made in America"

it's not hard but nothing I can go through step-by-step in a post here. Just run "ruger 1022 disassembly" through your search engine and you get a choice of videos, diagrams, etc showing how. Careful of flying springs! The best $12 I ever spent when I started messing with 10/22s is this: http://www.gun-guides.com/Ruge...1022-Rifle_p_12.html Feel free to send me a PM if you get stuck. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Give me the simple life; an AK-47, a good guard dog and a nymphomaniac who owns a liquor store.

I had a 10/22 with about the same number of rounds through it and decided to clean it up. I took it apart and went through the cleaning process and it only took me two attempts to not have any parts left when done! In retrospect it was a lot simpler than I imagined and interesting to see how stuff works on the inside. There is a lot of stuff out there on the internet also to help you.

I just did a quick google search and came up with this link, which shows the entire process pretty well: http://gunpoints.org/blog/archives/94 However, unless you are curious I would just remove the action and then remove the trigger group and breechblock and clean those then reassemble. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside
