A recent trade produced an Savage Anschutz 181 in my collection. While this is apparently a model rarely appearing, it has a few minor issues that I need help with.

The front sight appears to be held in place under spring tension from a “leaf†inserted between the front sight base and the sight cover. This leaf is broken into two pieces. The pieces can still be inserted in place on the front sight base and the cover pushed back into place, holding everything as meant to be.

I would like to secure one of these “leaf spring†pieces to replace the broken one and would appreciate any other information about this model anyone is willing to share.

The front sight needs to be moved to the left to zero the rifle but I am not going to toy with the sight much until I find a replacement piece as described above, or will simply scope the little jewel.
