Thinking of buying one. Anyone here have anything good, bad or indifferent to say about it, bring it on?

I seem to be a bit late but I'll post anyway. I have a Savage Mark II in .22 L.R. It is a very accurate rifle and I have dusted several Woodchucks with it. Mine cost 150 $ (I think) at Cabelas. It is open sighted and it cost 150 $ (I think) at Cabelas.

Interesting! The one in the Classifieds was for sale for $400! I wonder why one needs a 22lr. Tactical Rifle? I assume that is what TR stands for. Still if it is accurate then $150 is a great price! Certainly better than $400.

I am guessing it went for 400 because it was a tactical rifle. I don't have the Mark II tactical rifle, so I don't know what that particular model is worth. In fact, I didn't even know Savage made a Mark II tactical! I really don't know why you would buy a .22 L.R tactical rifle either?


EDIT: P.S I just checked I have the Savage Mark II F

I just went to the local gun shop to order a CZ-455 American.....the shop owner suggested the Savage Mark II was as good a shooter and quite a bit less.....

Vapo, doesn't the CZ have a wood stock while the Savage has a composite stock of some kind? Could that be part of the difference?

If you go to the Savage website you will find the Mark II in many different iterations....synthetic, wood, thumbhole, camo, target barrel classic, etc...
