A few years back I picked up a Remington model 121 Pump 22lr in near new shape. I then found a Marbles receiver sight for it. The sight screws on to two holes at the very back of the receiver and has a place for a third screw a couple inches down the stock. I don't have the heart to drill my stock for a screw or threaded insert. I am wondering what the sight would be worth and if there is any interest in it.

Why not make an intermediate pad for it, with one set of screw holes for attaching it to the receiver and one for attaching the sight to the pad?

Some years ago, I didn't want to drill a 513T, so drilled a Weaver mount to fit the existing holes instead.

I have a similar "tang" sight (despite the fact that there is no tang) on a Rem Model 25 in .25-20. I don't see a brand marked on it, but it may be a Lyman. At any rate, it only mounts, quite securely it appears, to the two holes on the back of the receiver and has no screw for tapping into the stock wrist. Have you tried it to see if it is secure using only the two receiver mounting holes?

Stone Creek, I've been doing a little searching. The Lyman only mounts to the receiver, My sight is a MA and M which I think means Marbles and Merk or something along those lines. Yes it does mount securely. I made a leather pad that I screwed to the bottom of the third hole. Works well. DW

To finish this story, I ended up selling the Marbles receiver sight on E-Bay. I got $230.00 for it. It must be worth it, I had a lot of bidders and the bidding was very active.
