Anybody actually seen one yet? Or better yet, actually shot one? If things go half right I will be coon fingering one this weekend and if it feels solid it might follow me home.

Bought one last week but have not yet had the opportunity to shoot it.
Gun Blast gave it a pretty good review.

Well, one came home with me today. I too liked the Gunblast review and the one the NRA posted. This morning at the gunshow there were only a couple left. The dealer I got mine from sold the 18 he received in two days. I am impressed with the design of the take-down features and the carrying case is first rate. It will probably be a couple days before I can shoot it and probably a couple weeks before I can scope it the way I want to.

Besides the design of the take-down and the case, I give Ruger very high marks for how they readied several thousand of them and released them to distributors ~all at once. I will however predict that they will sell all they can produce for awhile as this version of the 10/22 will be at the top of the gotta-have-list for all 'preppers'. I believe it's mechanical design is superior to the AR-7 (Henry Survival Rifle) and the Marlin Papoose). But the proof will indeed be in the shooting. As solid as the 10/22 has been with over 5 million sold I don't anticipate any problems with this model.

I wish other gun companies would do large releases like this rather than release a dribble of their new products free to writers, get them on the cover of gun rags, then drag their production feet driving up prices and mystique (like the Solo and Keltec shotgun).

UPDATE (Tuesday): After work this evening I put about 40 rounds through it at an indoor range. Ammo used was a mixture of mostly different flavors of Walmart cheap stuff, some Winchester T-22 standard velocity from the late 70's, and some CCI Stinger. Every thing functioned just fine as one would expect from any 10/22.

Will be getting it scoped in the next couple weeks and we will see how it groups any shifts in POI after takedown and reassmbly.
