All, I have recently acquired a Welhrauch 17 HMR. The import stamp is an LLC from Florida and their website does not provide and information. It is made in Germany. Not knowing anything about the rifle I purchased it because it appears to be of a very good quality, has a match type trigger, adult size stock with decent figure and checkering. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for bases, but I cannot find any, luckily it also has a standard 3/8" groove for the scope ring to attach. Can anyone tell me about this rifle. Its quality reminds me a Sako or Anschutz level. Your comments are appeciated. John, On their website you'll have to click on Technical Details to see which models are made in the various chamberings. Would appear you've got a model HW66J? I'm only familiar with the HW66's, Hunting Match Rifles; which some of my friends have in either 22 Hornet or 222 Remington, either in the magazine version or single-shot. They are EXCELLENT value & super accurate; especially the Stainless Steel barreled versions. My Buddies all use 3/8" groove mounts since they're inexpensive and will easily handle the Hornet & .222 Rem. recoil level. Last two we put the rimfire mounts from Sinclair International on them and they're holding up just fine. I'm sure you can find some really spendy European Mounts for the Weihrauchs but we've decided to go the other way 'round and use American mounts. http://www.weihrauch-sport.de/englisch/e_startseite/e_index.htm Cheers, Number 10

Gerry, Thank you for the link. It appears I have a HW 60 J with a single trigger. Again, thank you for the information; John BigBullet "Half the FUN of the travel is the esthetic of LOSTNESS" Ray Bradbury https://www.facebook.com/Natal...443607135825/?ref=hl

Big John..... You're welcome - I obviously was having a brain fart with "66", you're correct; it would be a HW60J vice the HW66J. Enjoy your new "little" Boomer, my 17HMR is the Savage 93 L/H and I really like it. Cheers, Number 10

I have a HW66 Jin .222 Rem and I absolutely love the rifle. It's not the most beautifull (it's kind of stubby looking), but it has a great trigger, fits me like glove and is superbly accurate. Proud DRSS member

Night..... The stock appearance sorta grows on ya. The Three-Position Stock is made for shooting DJV or German Hunting Shooting Competition. For this purpose it is a superb design. The events are the Fox Target (Prone) Roe Buck Target (Standing Supported, from a Pole) Wild Boar Target (Off-Hand) and a 40 or 50 Meter Running Boar; the two distances compensated for by two different sizes of Targets.
