I just bought this gun new in the box not a mark on it paid $125.00 people say I got a great gun I guess it was made in Irvin Ca by Calwestco. this little gun made by Jennings back when has a bad wrap I took it to the range today after about 100 rounds of federal light 40 gr. bullets .it ejected the rounds flawlessly and the accuracy was pretty amazing for a piece crap so people say.I made this grips for it out of 1/4" strip of oak I paid $2 bucks at homedepot

I had nothing but problems with mine. Failure to eject made the gun useless except as a single shot. Glad yours works well! Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. I have 2 jennings autos. One new in box and the other that was run through by a friend. The safety was removed and the internals deburred and smoothed up. I carry it in a pocket fishing or walking around when I don't want to carry my 1911. I carry it with no round in the chamber (obviously)--- however, it shoots respectivly to about 10 yards.

Back around `85 I walked into a Gun Shop in Huntsville, AL and spotted a few of them inside the counter. As I was looking at them, I noticed two side-by-side (similar to your's with Black Plastic Grips) priced $39.95 and $49.95. Thought that was a bit strange, because they both looked new. Asked the guy at the counter why one was $10 cheaper. He told me it was "used" and had 1-shot through it. That shot ripped the web of the guys hand open as the action cycled due to his Large hands. He handed it to me, I saw what he was talking about in my XL hands. However, the guy said it was very rare for them to have any problems with the ones they sold. And apparently they sold a good many of them. I would "guess" the majority of the Ejection and Feed problems they used to have were caused by people not holding them tight enough. But, that is pure speculation. Good to hear yours is working well. Should make a fine pocket pistol. BTW, your Grips look great!

I had one for a couple of years; bought it off of a friend and sold it back later. It shot well out to 50 feet. I didn't carry it much but it was better than an empty pocket. The only thing I'd change would be a more positive safety. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.

A Jennings was the first handgun I ever owned. Talked my granny into buying it when I was 15(she raised me). Well the day after I got my driver's license I went to the big city(SLC) and we were out joyriding about 2am. I ran a red light right in front of the police station(friday night). Being a new driver I got nervous with 5 cop cars following me. I made an illegal left turn at the crossroads intersection and the cops swarmed us. So there's 5 cops standing around the car when the one next to me asked for my registration. I reached into the glovebox for it forgetting about the Jennings also in the glovebox. The cop on the passenger side yells "He's got a fuckin' gun" and that's when it got interesting. Next thing I know there's cops screaming and guns to our heads(me and my 2 cousins). They tore the car apart but only found my 2 shotguns in the trunk because it was dove season. They said I was lucky they didn't shoot me because my hand was close enough to the gun. Well they sent us on our way, me being 2 moving violations richer and one jennings j-22 poorer. That was the last I ever saw of my first pistol. They let me keep my shotguns. Come to think of it, that was 22 years ago this week. Time flies. Moral of this story: Don't let your dumbass underage kids out of the house with handguns unless they know how to drive in the city, and, senile senior citizens may not have the best judgement at raising teenagers.

Many years ago I was on a search for a small pocket rocket that was capable of hitting something. I ended up with a Walther TPH but before that I had a Jennings and found that the best thing about it was that it would make a loud noise when fired, if it would not FTF, and that after shooting the clip you could also throw it at the target. Come to think of it throwing was probably the best thing about it.

Mine has ejection problems when it gets a little dirty, and likes CCi Stingers best. It's not especially accurate but within ten feet does all right. TomP Our country, right or wrong. When right, to be kept right, when wrong to be put right. Carl Schurz (1829 - 1906)

Bought mine for $49.95 in the late 80's. Worked fairly well for a while. Then it started not ejecting. I took it apart, removed the safety, slicked up some internals and it worked O.K. Then the chrome finish started stress-cracking. Then the slide started flying off when fired. It's sitting in my safe waiting for a good police "gun buyback" deal in some local commumity. Figure I may be able to turn a profit on it yet. Founder....the OTPG
