After looking at the 10/22 triggers on the market I'm on the fence. The Kidd 2 stage triggers are set, from what I can tell. No adjustment. The Kidd single stage has adj. The Timney is set from the factory at 2-3/4# The Kidd "Trigger Job" looks like it could work. Who has used theses triggers? Thanks

I think it's the other way areound in the KIDD. The single stage is Set. I don't have experience with the Timney, although I have used their triggers in other types of guns and found them to be very good. However, the KIDD is the 10-22 trigger by which all other are judged. Another option is C&A Tactical on Ebay. You can send your trigger in and they will put a kit in it for around the same money as a Kidd or Volquartzen kit will cost you. I sent one for my back up gun and it is a very nice trigger. Not a KIDD but close. And the turn around was just a few days.

And priced!!!!!! I have several 10/22s that I play with and I think the best value is Hornet Products. www.hornetproducts.com/ The Kidd is good but just not quite THAT good, IMO. .

Well, installed the Kidd single stage trigger in my target 10/22. Was shooting so well I actualy thought I could shoot the bulk stuff as well as the match ammo. Well that didn't happen. But the single stage trigger is well worth having.

I have one of Arnold Jewell's trigger assemblies for mine that I bought several years ago. Arnold is no longer making them, but told me the Kidd Trigger was very good.

I have a Jewell also. Fantastic piece of gear. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

For those that are budget minded, Ruger, after 50 years, recently announced the BX Trigger for the 10/22. Supposed to be 2.75-3# pull. This unit can be ordered directly from Ruger on their web site. Cost is ~$90, probably less when they hit retailers shelves. I have one on the way and am going to compare it to Hornet Products and Kidd triggers I already have in 10/22s.

Both of the Kidd triggers are adjustable (though tricky to figure out) In my view they are the best available, and we have tried them all (Family shoots 10/22s competitively)

I haven't tried a Timney, but friends who have used both say they prefer the Kidd. I have tried a Hornet and I believe the Kidd single-stage is nicer: crisper and less overtravel. Both Kidds, single-stage and two-stage, are completely adjustable with just an Allen wrench. The single-stage can be adjusted safely down to about one pound, although for caution the maker recommends a minimum of 1.5 pounds. I had the chance to disassemble and study a Kidd single-stage a few weeks ago, and wrote an extensive review of it in my blog: www.1022Companion.wordpress.com Blog: 1022Companion.wordpress.com

There's lots of triggers out there that are a big improvement over the factory trigger, but I've got to agree with others that the KIDD triggers are best. "If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."
