Why the drop of the 504?

I bought one and I love it, it's probably the nicest and most accurate rimfire I have ever owned including a Krico and a Anchutz.

I have a Burris 3-9 Fullfield on it and I really like this set up. I had plans to buy the 17HMR version in the laminate stock, but they dropped the whole 504 program.

I have read on other web sites that many of them are very inaccurate. I have a custom shop one with great wood and it is very accurate.

A local shop has one for $450 or so.

Wood is okay.

I am thinking about it........

Update
bought the 504

.88" or so at 50yds

To answer the original question, there were some reported accuracy problems with the 504, esp on the internet. Got a bad net rep and that was that.

Remington reintroduced it from the custom shop,as the 547 (IIRC), for double the price.
