Its already hot here in the Houston area (95F and 90% humidity yesterday). I work outside, not in an office. My favorite gunshop always has the a/c set around 70F. That gives me the excuse to stop in and soak up some cool air (and shoot the breeze and look at guns). Like many of you I have more rifles than I can shoot. However I am always on the lookout for something I can't live without.
Well one of the guys there happened to take in a mint Kimber of Oregon model 82 bolt action 22 lr. with a Leupold M8 4x scope and six magazines.
I have all kinds of rifles (I’m reloading for 30 plus different chamberings) but I did not have a quality bolt action 22 rimfire.
Well needless to say, I cured that problem in a heartbeat and it followed me home.
It’s an absolutely exquisite rifle. Wonderful trigger, shoots good too, and under $600 out the door.
Here are a couple of pix of the rifle and some 5 shot groups. I tried five different types of ammo. These groups were fired off a bench and rest at 50 yds. The wind was blowing 15mph+. However the groups still aren’t to shabby. The ely club xtra shot the best, with the Target Rifle second and the 32 gr. CCI stingers third. I will use the 32 gr. stingers as my hunting load for squirrels, rabbits, coons and fox at close range.

Try the Federal 711b Target loads, not too expensive and damn accurate.
